After
the excitement around the news of the success of the COP21, press conferences
were linked showing us very satisfied and optimistic heads of state as for
these agreements. It is thus on the occasion of one of these conferences that
the South Africa’s Jacob Zuma expressed himself on the role of South Africa in
the COP21
« The historic accord reached in
Paris to stop Earth warming wouldn’t have been possible without South Africa
playing a big role » according to President Jacob Zuma.
This would not have been possible if
South Africa had not delivered the outcomes it did as President of COP17 ‚ held
in Durban in 2011. The success in Paris is the culmination of the watershed of
Durban Climate Change Conference in 2011 where Parties to the Convention agreed
to the mandate for the Paris Agreement‚” Zuma said in a statement on Sunday.
He congratulated South Africans for
their contribution to finding solutions to a big challenge.
Then he continued by saying that the
climate change was a serious threat to developing countries’ ability to
ensure that their population were got out of poverty. It had consequently been a great honour
for South Africa to play such a key role at both the beginning and at the end
of the process through which the international community had worked toward
reaching this historic solution.
Then he ended up by saying that The agreement was a
big step forward in committing all countries to act decisively against climate
change. Through this agreement‚ hope had been restored for a safe and
prosperous future‚ where Earth’s health change would be adequately addressed.

des accords de Paris
Après
l’excitation autour de la nouvelle du succès de la COP21, les conférences de
presse se sont enchainées laissant apparaitre des chefs d’Etats très contents
et optimistes quant à ces accords. C’est donc à l’occasion d’une de ces
conférences que le président Sud-Africain Jacob Zuma s’est exprimé sur le rôle
de l’Afrique du Sud dans la COP21
« L'entente
historique atteinte à Paris n'aurait pas été possible sans Afrique du Sud qui y
a joué un grand rôle » selon le Président Jacob Zuma
Ceci
n'aurait pas été possible si l'Afrique du Sud n'avait pas livré les résultats
de la précédente COP17, tenue à Durban en 2011. Le succès à Paris est la
culmination de la ligne de « partage des eaux » de la Conférence de
Durban en 2011 où les Partis ont été d'accord avec le mandat pour l'Accord de
Paris, " a dit Zuma dans une déclaration dimanche dernier.
Il
a ensuite félicité les Sud-Africains pour leur contribution à la découverte de
solutions face à ce grand défi.
Et
a continué en disant que le changement climatique était une menace sérieuse à
la capacité des pays en voie de développement d'assurer que leur population
allait sortir de la pauvreté. Cela avait par conséquent été un grand honneur
pour l'Afrique du Sud de jouer un rôle si clé tant au commencement qu'à la fin
du processus par lequel la communauté internationale avait travaillé et dans un
but d'atteindre de cette solution historique.
