Looking for Unity
This
Monday, the South African government has launched a campaign called
'' LOVE SOUTH AFRICA'' to encourage patriotism and respect of the national
anthem, the national flag, and other symbols of the
country.
The beginning of the
campaign took place on Constitution Hill, a symbolic place itself since
former President Nelson Mandela
and other anti-apartheid militants
were once imprisoned there. “We want
to build (..) a proud South Africa'' said Nomvula Makonyane the governor of Gauteng Province.
The campaign also aims to promote cultural
diversity in accepting differences, “without judging or blaming”.
''Build a unique identity and
work for a united nation '' a slogan says, a call to
fraternity in a country divided by its past.

Lundi, le gouvernement a lancé une
campagne nommée ''LOVE SOUTH AFRICA'' dans le but d'encourager le patriotisme,
le respect de l'hymne national, du drapeau national, ainsi que d'autres valeurs
symboliques du pays.
La campagne a été inaugurée à Constitution
Hill, un endroit particulièrement symbolique, puisque l'ancien
Président Nelson Mandela et d'autres figures de la lutte contre
l'apartheid y furent emprisonnés. ''Nous voulons construire
(…) une Afrique du Sud fière" a dit le gouverneur de la
province de Gauteng, Nomvula Makonyane. Cette campagne incite également à
respecter la diversité culturelle ainsi que la différence, «sans juger ni
blâmer».
''Construisons une
identité unique et travaillons pour une nation unie'' affirme cette campagne,
un appel vibrant à la fraternité dans un
pays divisé par l’histoire.
