On February 14, president Jacob Zuma left office after he was dismissed by his own party and Cyril Ramaphosa gave his much-awaited speech on the state of the nation He pledged to fight against corruption and outlined a promising future for South Africa. This seemed to delight and give hope to citizens. But quickly, the emotion waned. To change the economy the new president is going to increasetaxes.
The market welcomed this announcement with joy but the citizens were disappointed.

Alors que le 14 février dernier, le président Jacob Zuma quittait ses fonctions, poussé vers la sortie par son propre parti.
C’est Cyril Ramaphosa qui a su mettre la majorité d’accord par son discours sur l’état de la nation très attendu. Il a promis un combat contre la corruption et un avenir prometteur pour l’Afrique du Sud.
Ses déclarations ont suscité un mouvement d’euphorie dans le pays. Mais très vite, l’enthousiasme est redescendu. Pour faire évoluer l’économie le nouveau président augmente taxes et impôts.
La bourse a accueilli cette annonce avec joie mais les citoyens avec déception.

Death of Winnie Mandela
Winnie Mandela - her real name NomZamo Winifred Zanyiwe Madikizela - died on Monday 2 April, 2018, at about 2:00 p.m. at the age of 81 in a Johannesburg hospital after a long struggle with her illness. She did 5 years after her former husband Nelson Mandela, with whom she was married from 1956 to 1996.
She fought against the racism of White Power in South Africa and was a true icon of this fight. First a social worker, she became a figure of the ANC and then Vice-Minister of Culture.

Winnie Mandela, de son vrai nom Nomzamo Winifred Zanyiwe Madikizela, s'est éteinte ce lundi 2 Avril 2018 vers 14 heure à l'âge de 81 ans dans un hôpital de Johannesburg suite à un long combat contre la maladie. Elle décède donc 5 ans après la mort de son ancien époux, Nelson Mandela avec qui elle fut mariée de 1956 à 1996.
Cette femme a longtemps combattu le racisme du pouvoir blanc en Afrique du Sud et était une véritable icône de ce combat. D'abord assistance sociale, elle deviendra une figure de l'ANC puis vice-ministre de la culture.
