Change in transportation in south Africa
There is some news about transportation in South Africa: a new highspeed train as well as a new driver's license.
In the beginning of May of a new High-Speed Rail (HSR) network project has been presented by the Department of Transport.
This train could be developed in 2025 at the earliest.
It’s going to be funded by the Government, investor funding and participation from the private sector.
President Cyril Ramaphosa dreams of a country made of smart cities “with skyscrapers, schools, universities, hospitals and factories” connected by high speed trains.
The department of transport also announced that a new Driving Licence Card Account (DLCA) is being developed.
It will allow some improvements: reduction of the production turnaround from 12 days to 7 days, introduction of an electronic/mobile driving licence, creation of a platform for introducing e-services, re-engineering of the DLCA process.
The department confirmed that the coronavirus lockdown has had an impact on the planning of the introduction of these new cards.
Des changements dans les transports en Afrique du sud
Il y a des nouveautés dans le domaine du transport en Afrique du Sud: un nouveau train à grande vitesse ainsi qu'un nouveau permis de conduire.
Début mai, un nouveau projet de train à grande vitesse (TGV) a été présenté par le ministère des Transports.
Ce train pourrait être développé en 2025 au plus tôt.
Il sera financé par le gouvernement, le financement des investisseurs et la participation du secteur privé.
Le président Cyril Ramaphosa rêve d'un pays fait de villes intelligentes « avec des gratte-ciel, des écoles, des universités, des hôpitaux et des usines» reliés par des trains à grande vitesse.
Le ministère des Transports a également annoncé qu'un nouveau de permis de conduire est en cours d'élaboration.
Il permettra quelques ameliorations: réduction du délai de production de 12 jours à 7 jours, une introduction d'un permis de conduire électronique / mobile, création d'une plateforme d'introduction des e-services, refonte du processus.
Le ministère a confirmé que le confinement suite au coronavirus a eu un impact sur le planning de l'introduction de ces nouvelles cartes.
